About this site!

Okay so I wanted to make a small page about what this site actually means to me and I guess like. The reasons why I have it, what I wanna / am gonna put on it, yadda yadda stuff like that. I guess you can call this a manifesto, lol X)

First off I wanna point out. Thank you Lazer bunny because!! When I was on the fence of whether or not I actually wanted to make a neocities I saw her site and WOW. I thought it was soso cool. So thank you especially for pushng me over the edge and convincing me to make my own site!! Also if you haven't noticed the layout of this site is very heavily inspired by hers LMAO. Please check out her site!! It is very cool!!!

So, unlike most of the other webdevs I've seen, I didn't actually really make this as an "alternative" to social media, but more like an accompaniment! Maybe it's just cause I'm good at curating my space, but I'm not really tired of social media at all lol X) But I'm generally I guess.. fond of having DIY versions of stuff??? For me this is like a "catch-all, I can do whatever I want" space which I really love!!

Actually, I feel like maybe I just generally don't tend to "participate" in social media a lot. I'm the chronic reblogger on Tumblr lol, and on Discord I only really talk to my friends. The only "proper" social media I'd consider that I use is Bluesky, but that's kinda just for vents, and generally on Bluesky it's pretty easy to keep to yourself and the few mutuals you have X)

So in a way, this site is kinda my space to actually express myself and be loud about what I wanna and talk about myself and stuff I like.

I think one of the main reasons I started this was cause of the freedom of doing literally anything and everything you wanted. I hate putting everything in one place, but also I hate NOT having things in one place you know? But with this it's easy. I can just put it on another page in this site, and then it's out of the way, but still *here*, yaknow?

The biggest thing that drew me to webdesign is probably the concept of infodump pages / shrine LMAO. As soon as I'm done making this page that's immediately next X)

One thing I'm looking forward to incorprating is the blog section. I've always wanted to write really long essays on topics, especially some that may seem controversial. I've always avoided doing this on social media cause I am terrified of harassment, but here is a little smaller and safer. I feel like people would be more willing to actually debate and stuff instead of sending me hate straight up. Is this weird?? Is this a weird thing to wanna talk about? Lol. I was so worried making my "dislikes" section wondering if it would be too controversial...
